The Boston accent is identifiable around the world. Hallmark features include dropped R's and stressed A's. The video is an example of the pride Bostonians have for their city and culture. They love their sports, their city, their own, and their Dunkin'. It's wicked awesome.
First founded as a haven for Puritans who desired further separation from the Church of England, over centuries Boston has developed into something far beyond anything its founders could have envisioned. From Boston's early and frequent political rebellions to its ongoing educational and economic prowess, Boston and its Harbor have remained on the forefront of advancement and carry a large amount of influence in the United States of America and the world. The Boston Harbor has for Europeans served as a port through which goods are traded, ideas exchanged, and people largely imported. Boston’s cultural shift from a Native American populace to Puritan colonies to a Roman Catholic metropolis has echoed the influx of new ideas to the Americas in Boston's economical evolution from one of the major harbors in the United States to one of the leading green economies of the world. These changes further reflect Boston’s extreme political development over time that saw it go from being a chartered colony under British jurisdiction to becoming one of the major sites of the American Revolution and to now being one of the flagship cities of the United States of America. With that said, Boston has continually faced challenges over time and has constantly met those challenges by evolving into its next form. Therefore from its creation to the present day, Boston has changed culturally, economically, and politically in ways that continuously have impacted and influenced not just the United States, but the world as well. That said, Boston is a city is as unique as its one of a kind accent.
